An indie rock band from Tennessee, Echosflow released their self-titled
album in April 2004. This 4-song EP features some upbeat rock tunes with a definite worship
twist.
The EP is neatly divided between the melodic rock of the first two songs and the laid-back
vibe of the second half. The first song, "More Than Anything," is easily the most accessible song
on the album, sounding like it could easily blend in with any of the modern rock tunes you hear
today on Christian radio with its strong, radio-friendly chorus. "Letting Go" is the strongest
track on the album, featuring a driving chorus that is almost infectious due to the song's energy.
Things do slow down and mellow out considerably for the last two tracks on the EP.
The third song "I am Trusting You" is a mid-tempo acoustic number reminding me of Third Day's
"I've Always Loved You." The last song "I Love You" brings things to an end with a slow,
heartfelt cry of love to God - "I love you for your death on the cross/ I love you for the life
that you give."
Overall, the EP is a solid effort from this indie band. Echosflow's combination of a modern
rock sound with worship-oriented lyrics (while not original by any means) will definitely find an
audience with those who prefer their worship music with a rock punch.
