There aren't enough good Christian bands putting out stuff as of late ;)
For Green Day, MXPX isn't cutting it. I like them, but I like Green Day's newer sound..
A couple more bands I'd be interested in some similar Christian bands are: (most of them are pretty clean, but still, I'd prefer to support Christian artists.)
Aqualung Coldplay Rob Thomas Foo Fighters Howie Day
So you want an alternative for the Foo Fighters? Try The Classic Crime, these guys are going to get alot of mainstream attention.

Classic Crime sounds really good.
I'll have to see if I can find any of their stuff online. Napster doesn't have any, but iTunes might. The one song on their purevolume page sounded great. Not quite the same gruff vocals with Foo Fighters, but the music is cool.. and the vocals aren't bad.

Yeah that song is sweet. You wont be able to buy any of their stuff online because the album isn't out yet. Its called "Albatross" and will come out 3/21. Can't wait!!!
I finally found a good good alternitive for Disturbed and Dark New Day.
Decyfer Down sounds alot like Disturbed. I can't wait to see them in concert next week.

Dude.. I just found a great Coldplay alternative.
Mat Kearney.. sounds a TON like Chris Martin.. I mean really. The main difference between him and Coldplay is that Coldplay is more piano based, with Mat is more acoustic driven.
I haven't heard his older stuff, which is apparently brit pop mixed with hiphop, but check out his latest single from iTunes or something. Its 'Nothing Left To Lose'

Yeah, most of Mat Kearneys current stuff does sound a lot different, style wise. However.. their voices are simaler, and apparently his upcoming album is more britpop influenced.. have you heard the single I mentioned?

Holy cow, yeah.
His voice is a bit thicker, but that sounds a LOT like Chris Martin actually. The music isn't too far off, sound more like Parachutes/AROBTTH than X&Y though, less synth'y.

The Listening has a bit of a Radiohead flare.
And I will admit that Mat Kearney's voice is very similar to Chris Martin's on that new single.

Yes. Delirious? indeed. No, they don't sound just like Radiohead, but they have similar vibes and are ALMOST as good, =D Thats saying a lot.
Luna Halo - They have that whole sort of Brit rock theme going on, which fits well into The Bends - Ok Computer days of Radiohead.
MuteMath - They used to be Earthsuit (right?). Now, this band is sort of indie, electronica, prog rock. They have lots of extended jams live and carry an awesome vibe similar to something you might hear on the Kid A/Amnesiac sessions or Hail to the Thief.
Also, Eisley. Musically and lyrically they are quite different. But, Sherri DuPree and Thom Yorke have a similar vocal style if you ask me. And, my objective isn't always to find bands that sound like this or that band, but to find bands that you would like if you like band X.
Jeff Buckley - The general consensus is that there aren't even any secular alternatives to this unparalleled vox.
Pink Floyd - I only have Dark Side of the Moon, and I hardly know any older Christian classic/prog rock bands, so I can't really help you there.

know any bands that do the noise/grindcore style of The Locust?
any bands that do the noisy bass&drums style of Lightning Bolt?
artists that do cut&paste soundscapes/jungle like DJ Shadow or
Amon Tobin?

Does anyone know of any alternatives for 10 years?? For some reason, I love their sound...though I know it's probably not the best music to listen to. I would really love a Christian alternative...if at all possible.

Heh.. Beck is impossible to find an alternative to. I haven't been able to find anybody close. (My youth group leader was a Beck fan a while back, and he can't think of any Christian groups that come close either)
Primus: Haven't a clue. I didn't even know there was such as thing as funk metal :)
Rage Against the Machine: Umm.. maybe The Classic Crime? Vocals are a lot different (not rapcore), but you might like them. I don't think their album is out yet. http://www.purevolume.com/theclassiccrime

Anybody know if there are any Christian dream pop bands? Something like Ivy maybe?

Anybody know a good Christian alternative for Thursday? Underoath and Emery are as close as I can get so far. Something between the styles of those two bands would be amazing.

Bon Voyage is cool. A bit harder (at times) and less melancholy than Ivy. But still good. *adds their albums to my too-buy list* Thanks massivifan.

Christian alternatives to Staind, Seether, or Shinedown, please! I love melodic hard rock, and I really need some suggestions.
Also, for the metal in me, I need some good alternatives to System of A Down and Disturbed. You don't have to reply to all of these at once, but some help would be nice.

I've always felt that Seventh Day Slumber gave off a similar vibe as Staind. Give them a look. Vox are a little bit different (not different to the point of screaming. It's still singing, just different), but music and lyrical themes are similar.

Eh...I'm more talking the moody, slow, emo rock Get Up Kids - I love the album "Something To Write Home About". Amberlin sound a lot different to that, from what I've heard of them.

If you think "Something..." is slow and moody, take a listen to

Project 86 has some Disturbed-ish qualities at times...as well as a little System of a Down, but not as much.
I can't think of any other possible alternatives to SOAD, I'd be interested in any that came up. I love System's sound.

I always thought Bleach had some Franz Ferdinand-ish sound. I've only heard the album "Static" though, so their newer stuff might be a lot different.

I have that album. They're more like Weezer. i need a band that captures that new wave feel without having the sexual overtones that Franz and the killers have.
