I am really liking their new rock songs. So far, it seems like they are pleasing me. I didn't like the screaming of Collide but I LOVED Comatose, especially the rock songs. The new songs seem to be intense Rock songs that don't scream, which is exactly what I love. So if the rest of Awake is anything like Hero and Monster, I am gonna be one happy camper.

I think its kinda cool how on the Comatose Comes Alive DVD towards the end, John explains the name Comatose, and he says something like "We need to wake up from our comas". It was almost like a hint to the next album lol... After Comatose comes Awake XD

I actually like the name 'Awake' better than 'Alive and Awake'. It helps make the progression from 'Comatose' to 'Awake'. We have UM Army in July, though, so I'm hoping that 'Monster' will be released before we leave!

^Awake is the name of the album, Alive and Awake is the "title track" so to speak.

My friend and I (Sk8sidekick) had an interview with John Cooper on May 15th on their Comatose tour. (Longwood (Orlando), FL.)
Their single "Hero" comes out on May 29th.
and their album "Awake" comes out on August 25th.

cool, the last time i went to a skillet concert was almost 2 years ago, right when they were releasing the music vid for "looking for angels"... wanna go to another because when i saw them last, A.) i didnt have a clue who they were and B.) it was midnight i barely remember a thing :/ haha. hopefully ill get the chance to go to one before the end of the year.

Umm...May 29th is a Friday. The single will not be released then.
In fact, there isn't a certain date for the singles yet. It's either LATE this month, or early to mid next month.
The album does come out August 25th.

Well, that AND the fact that there are so many bands that name the album after the "Title Track" that it's getting REALLY old! Every time I see an album named after one of the tracks I cringe...although I sometimes also don't like how some bands name every single song after the main line in the chorus, hence the reason I thanks Skillet, Anberlin, and Red, among others :)

Every time I come here it becomes more and more apparent how different my taste is than almost everyone else here's...
Since everyone seems so excited about this, I went and found a live video of it to see if I like them more than the last time I heard them...
I actually audibly laughed a few times while listening. I'm sorry, I just don't understand the appeal.

Heard Hero on ChristianRock.net yesterday. I wasn't blown away. After listening to it a few more times, it's started to grow on me though. I hope Monster has a little more wow factor.

Dang, I've been listening to christianrock.net for like 3 and a half hours and they still havn't played it... other skillet songs though.
I really wanna here it beyond the 30 seconds I heard on the radio last weekend.
