I just heard Hero and it's a decent song. Skillet is definitely starting to sound more mainstream which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The song sounds like a cross between Linkin Park (secular), Red, Three Days Grace (secular), Breaking Benjamin (secular), and the breakdown at the end reminded me of Hearts of the Innocent-style Kutless.

^^^if you get an account on christianrock.net you can request songs, which might get them to play the song... but the songs new, and they cant over play it even though everyone wants to hear it so it might take a while of listening

It's on Youtube and Google blog? IS that the Live version or the studio version? Cause I heard the Live version and it's good but you can't really enjoy it due to the Low Quality so I wanna hear the studio version. :(

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this yet...but has anyone noticed that the last three albums go in a string.
We Collide, --> go into a Coma[tose], --> and now we will Awake!
I am gonna go crazy if i have to wait until August 25th, why must u torture me!?
Anyway i am hoping this album will be like Collide, this is like the only CD i dont consistently hit the skip button on, i think Comatose had some better songs (Whispers in the Dark and Live Free or Let Me Die are my two favorite songs) but Collide was better as a whole.
I was just flat disapointed by Alien Youth, the first to songs (title and Vapor) were good but the rest was disappointing.

I definitely don't want this to be like Collide. I didn't like the screaming type vocals. Comatose's rockers were IMO, much better and I hope they model their rockers this time around more after those. (They proved that they can still rock without screaming.) A few more of those rockers this time around might benefit them though.
Alien Youth is a mixed bag for me. I like some of the songs, not others. Alien Youth as a song is ok, kind of weird. Same with Vapor. But I like Earth Invasion.
Anyway, so far, Hero's studio version sounds good. I imagine Monster's will as well. So hopefully this album will be as terrific as I hope. Just wish I could hear the studio version of Monster now.

I actually think 'Hero' sounds better than anything they've done before. Don't get me wrong, Comatose was a great CD, but from what I've heard so far, I think Skillet is on track to make their best CD so far. The tag-team vocals between John and Jen are awesome! By the way, has Skillet announced when they're releasing 'Monster' as a single?

(Very believable since June is about a week away and it hasn't been released yet. ) Hopefully that means we'll have a studio version to listen to soon. And IA that I like Hero a lot. IMO it doesn't match Rebirthing but it's still great. I just hope most of the rockers are like Hero and Monster(screamfree ).

Here is a list of 10 of the 12 tracks that will be on the new album, also seems that they will be doing a cover of an 80's song, though i cant seem to confirm this or what the actual song is.
Hero
Monster
Awake and Alive
Forgiven
Don't
Never
Lucy
Sometimes
One Day Late
It's Not Me
Does anyone know the release date of Hero, i heard it was late May, and usually they are released on Tuesdays, right? Maybe it will be tomorrow, probably just wishful thinking, ive been waiting three years for this.

Yeah I'm pretty sure its "I'll be there for you" by Bon Jovi, They played the entire thing last night and it was awesome.
John also said the single was coming out in a week, that was yesterday but he might have meant the 29th which I think is the day.

They said they were doing a cover song and it's a Bon Jovi one eh? Hmmm, not sure how I feel about that but I guess 12 songs makes it ok since they usually give us less.

A Bon Jovi song? Wow. I didn't see that coming! Knowing Skillet, it oughta be good, though, so I'm not worried about it.

Actually John Cooper is a huge fan of 80's glam metal. he grew up listening to the same Christian bands I did like Stryper, Guardian, Barren Cross, Petra, etc. Also if you have seen the "Comatose Comes Alive" dvd there is a precursor to all this. Before doing the song "Yours to Hold" John says that he could stand up there and do Bon Jovi cover tunes all night but his manager won't let him. So it's no surprise that they are covering this great song by a great band. Awake= #3 on ChosenOnes most wanted

JF, are you on the Skillet message boards?
Yeah. Rebel.
I guess it is the 29th...that is so weird that it would be a friday...
By the way, Dark Whispers(You know who you are), you could at least give Cara some credit .
And that information is false anyway. The word was that they will be covering an 80s song LIVE at the FESTIVALS this summer, not on the album. It was also revealed to be a Bryan Adams song, but not confirmed which.

Lol I'm glad its the 29th.
I thought it was kinda odd that they would do a cover song on an album... they hadn't for all these years.

Yeah I got no clue what that means. At the last show on the comatose tour, which was last Sunday, the 24th, John said the single would be coming out in a week. So a week from sunday would be sunday, but I doubt they'll release it on a sunday. I bet it will be released this tuesday on itunes.
