Wow, I don't think I could have ever gotten a bigger wake up call than I did last Sunday night! I mean, I knew I hadn't been spending enough time working on my walk with Jesus and was letting myself drift back to that place where my every thought revolves around the fact that I don't have a boyfriend and innocently had let church become way too much about impressing my guy friends and not enough about chasing after God. Then, last Sunday a missionary came and was talking about how we have to give God our all, I listened but kept thinking that this couldn't be for me, I mean I try to give him my all always, don't I? The more he preached though, the more I could feel God tugging at my heart, but when he gave the altar call, I just sat there. I don't know why, but I did. He gave it three more times before I couldn't sit any longer and I had to go forward! As he prayed for me I knew exactly why I had need to come forward, there was this guy that I liked and while we weren't boyfriend/girlfriend, he consumed a lot of my thoughts. I knew deep in my heart that this was wrong and that he wasn't even the kind of guy I really needed in my life, but it all came down to the fact that I thought he was hot! I felt so ashamed as I stood there getting prayed for, then the missionary told me something I don't think I will ever forget as long as I live, he told me God had shown him what it was my heart really desires and that is to marry a guy who is truly following God's call for his life. Which, totally hit the nail on the head, that is what I desire. But, then he told me something that pierced my heart, to get the guy that God has planned for me, I have to be the girl that God has planned for me to be. I went home that night and things have changed, I still desire the same thing, but I know God has other jobs for me to do right now, so I must strive to do my best at them and then when the time is right, He will bring me the right guy! I don't know how or when, but I believe with all of my heart and soul that He will! And, I don't like the guy I did before, it's been tough but, God is really moving in my life and I want it to stay that way!!

It is so awesome how God works isn't it! I have been having a great time just being able to go to church and worship God, not worried about what anyone else thinks, it's really wonderful! Anyway, have a blessed day and a great week!

Hey, UnderOATHlove! Glad you liked my story, sometimes I wish I didn't have to have God work so hard to get my attention though! I'm doing great now, and I am kind of okay with just being single for now anyway, although I do pray every night for the guy I will one day marry, who ever he is! I know it stinks that guys can be so cute sometimes, doesn't it! This guy wasn't twice my age though, he's only 2 years older, but like you said, God can shine through anything! This taught me a valuable lesson of keeping my head and heart focused on God and not the cute guy who happens to walk by! God bless you and thanks for taking time to reply!
