Lyrics:
(Verse 1) Were you there when they crucified my Lord Were you there when they crucified my Lord Oh, sometimes I tremble
(Chorus) It was me that cursed your name I rolled the dice your robe to gain I forced a spear into your side Three times that day Lord I denied
I was there, I was there
(Verse 2) Were you there when they laid him in the tomb Were you there when he rose up from the grave Oh, sometimes I tremble
(Bridge) But I’m forgiven, this cleansing flood that washes over me I’m forgiven; I’m covered in your love
Behind the Song: “Were You There” was a song I used to do with a friend during communion services. I loved the lyrics and started working on the track, when all of a sudden, the chorus came flowing out. I quickly realized that we were all there and played a part in the crucifixion of our Savior." - Barry Blaze (Code Of Ethics)
