10. My Coming Day

My Coming Day
by Julian Drive

Lyrics:

I can’t even comprehend, the desperate feeling setting in Lost, alone I can not find my way I’ve got my hand in front of me, to feel my way I can not see Pressing through the night to a new day Darkness begins to make way, for the dawning of the coming day I see the Son on the horizon, as the night finally begins to fade I can see His majesty; I hear the music of heaven sing Moving slowly across the sky, flooding the earth with His glorious light I know I heard Your voice tell me, in every night You’ll be my coming day Though I’m troubled I can hear, a soft whisper in my ear Reassuring promises of love Shadows slowly start to cast, brightness eases in at last Lifted hands looking up above You promised that You’d never leave You promised that You’d never forsake me I am leaving proof Oh God, that Your promises are true

Behind the Song:
"This song is a direct result of my daily devotion and quiet time with the Lord. I had wrestled with some things and had been through a really tough stretch in life, but God was surely pulling me through it. During my darkest and saddest days, it was easy to wonder if the hurt would ever go away. As I read that day, God was quick to remind me that He was still there and that a new day was coming. The truth in that word helped me a lot. I felt like someone out there could use the same encouragement, so I used my own issues to hopefully encourage someone else by writing a song about it." - Shane Bowers (Julian Drive)
