FAMILY FORCE 5: BAND PARTNERS WITH TOOTH & NAIL
Band not officially signed to record label
NEWS SOURCE: Tooth & Nail/EMI/Gotee, a Jesusfreakhideout.com report
July 1, 2008
UPDATE #4: The official word on the new Family Force 5 release
is finally in. Check it out...

UPDATE #3: We've been back and forth with reliable sources on this, and we can't get over how bizarre it is
that everyone's insisting they're not on Tooth & Nail while the label even just released a
Tooth & Nail FUEL sampler that contains the
Family Force 5 song "Fever" on it (not to mention
they added the band to their artist roster on their website). However, just after posting this, we heard back from the band's
management who assure us that the band is in fact independent but has forged an agreement with EMI that creates a whole new
"division" of sorts with T&N "playing a strategic role." We don't want to steal anyone's thunder, so expect management to be
issuing an official press release on the deal this Monday (6/30), which you should be able to find right here at Jesusfreakhideout.com.
Until then...

UPDATE #2: OK, we're completely confused now. According to Gotee, Family Force 5 is not on Tooth & Nail, but
as of the 27th, Family Force 5 has been added to Toothandnail.com's list of Tooth & Nail Records artists (displaying
the new artist promo photos that were deemed secretive up until... well... now). Perhaps things have
happened between T&N and EMI regarding who's got FF5 on their roster more recently. All we know is that we don't know for sure, so
we won't even pretend to know. More details will be posted as we find out...

UPDATE: Yesterday we reported on how all signs pointed to the fact that Family Force 5 had signed to Tooth & Nail Records (although
there was no official announcement). Today, an inside source has confirmed that FF5 is actually NOT on on T&N, claiming it was
a "misprint and some label positioning." While we're not able to go into greater detail, the band apparently has a separate agreement
with EMI CMG apart from a specific label, which we're sure details of will be released soon enough....

Yesterday, Tooth & Nail Records sent out their regular newsletter, but plugged the August 19th release of Family Force 5's second full-length
album, Dance Or Die. Although no official announcement has been made (to our knowledge),
EMI CMG Distribution also lists the album release with Tooth & Nail while a "trailer" for the album (which simply contains a clip
of the song "Fever" over shots from the band's live show) on the T&N YouTube channel. For album art and a tracklisting (which I'm sure could be subject
to change), click here. In the meantime, here's T&N's newsletter blurb about FF5's release...
"Family Force 5's full-length album Dance Or Die is available in stores and online August 19th! Watch the trailer up on YouTube now
and check out music and more over at their MySpace page. Stay tuned for more info and see Family Force 5 all summer long on this year's
Warped Tour!"
