(Nashville, Tenn.) April 9, 2008 – Atlanta-based rock band, Third Day was recently honored with a House Resolution by the Georgia General Assembly. Driven by Representative Amy Carter of the 175th District, House Resolution 1878 was read before the General Assembly on April 1, 2008, followed by a presentation of the Resolution to the band, who was on hand to receive this tribute.
Representative Carter noted, “Third Day has represented the state of Georgia with honor and we’re very proud to recognize them with this Resolution. We congratulate the band members on their successes and wish them all the best in coming years.”
Mark Lee, Third Day guitarist, shared, “We are very honored to receive this House Resolution, not just because we consider it a major recognition of our music and work, but because it comes from our home state.”
Third Day is readying to release its 11th studio project, Revelation, on July 29. Produced by Howard Benson (Daughtry, P.O.D., Flyleaf and Hoobastank) the 13-song project reflects its Southern rock influences, but also delivers real, palpable vulnerability in both song matter and performance. With guest vocals by Chris Daughtry, Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosely and Robert Randolph the album is highly anticipated.
The album’s first single, the aching love song “Call My Name” releases to Christian radio on April 4, and sets the stage for the album’s release on July 29, followed by a summer of festival appearances and an ambitious fall tour schedule that will be released in coming weeks.
