The Orange County Supertones have returned with their sophomore release, Supertones Strike Back. The disc starts off with the title track which is packed with a more aggressive feel than their debut. With louder, harder-driven guitars and deeper, more moody vocals they proclaim, "Protect your neck, Supertones strike back!" The gospel-filled lyrics you were introduced to in their debut are still there. Now seven guys: vocals, drums, bass, trumpet, tenor sax, guitar, and trombone, they hit harder than before. This is also evident in "Unite," "Unite! Ignite and spark a light to burn so bright the sight will blind the blind of this our modern time."
...Strike Back is one of the best ska albums available. If you're a fan of the genre, or even if you're not, check it this solid rock record.
