Hey, is there anyone who knows christian bands not a lot of others know of? There's this band I know called Chaos is The Poetry. Are there any others you know?

(moderator edit - please note - this is the only thread on this board in which you may post about your own band.  Please do not start a new thread about your own band; that is considered "advertising" and we have a no-advertising policy in effect here for several reasons.  Please respect this.

Also, please note the date of the original thread - it's probable that in the three years since this started, many of the bands mentioned here are no longer unknown or smaller.  Praise God!!)

Thanks for understanding.)

Wow! There are a ton of independent bands(local, unsigned) out there. I live south of Jacksonville FL and there is a large number of local bands.

Massivivid was great.

Morella's Forest, The Echoing Green, The Danielson Famile, Shepherd (JE's Ronnie Martin's side-project), Pony Express (SF59's Jason Martin's side-project)

Such good stuff...*sigh*

A guy at my church wrote a whole heap of great kids songs. We use them a lot for sunday school and a few scripture union missions use mainly his songs.

Comeback Kid is hardly independant. Victory Records does not qualify. Good band though.

Speaking of indie bands, the Rockstar Collective is really good.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned them before, but:  "Better Days Ahead".  I don't think they're independent, but they're certainly not well-known, and they're surprisingly good for a new band.  Check out their website at http://www.bdatheband.com/

Stereotrap rocks! First heard about them from my
friend after she bought their CD (refusing). Caught
their show at Harvest Moon (Edmonton) in '04. Yah
bought their CD shortly after. And yah, I just really
like their music. Not hard like most of the stuff I listen
to, but defiantly the best unknown indie bands I've
heard.

As my friend "bla bla" aka Pef mentioned earlier, the band reign of 1000 is a pretty good local unsigned band.  I'd compare them to a rough Haste The Day except instead of having a lot of screaming/some singing, Reign of 1000 has a lot of singing and some screaming.
I don't think they update purevolume much and don't remember their myspace but if you want to hear their best song (in my mind if it was professionally recorded and produced it could be a huge hit) then email me at throwmoney1152@aol.com or otherwise just hit a reply with your email... or I'm on aim sometimes at throwmoney1152.  Then I will send you the mp3 of it (the band won't care, I'm friends with the band's family).  The song is titled No More and has actually been re-recorded to sound better than the original version.

This other band I stumbled upon at a small festival in Kansas City is called "blindemotion".  I haven't checked out their stuff on purevolume yet but their live show rocked.. so I'm sure if you want to check them out they are on purevolume, and I think myspace too.

Edit:  I don't think I'd consider ro1k to be like Haste The Day's singing anymore

In Google, if you search for Massivivid lyrics, you'll find a site called Leo's Lyrics. If you've never heard of them, you can download the songs. I suggest the songs Drop, Cobalt, Gripped, Epitome, Crop Circles, and ...A Hand Brushed by Tired Eyes

Circle of Dust

Guy isn't doing anything AS circle of dust anymore, he now goes by Celldweller and isn't considered "christian" anymore. cussing on a few songs kinda got him booted from the christian market, but Circle of Dust was on R.E.X. the same time as Living Sacrifice and Sixpence None the Richer. CHECK HIM OUT!!!!!
