01. Save Me From Myself

by Michael W. Smith

Lost, my heart is hard as stone
On my own, alone I carry it home
Gone, I used to waste the days
So distraught, I thought Iím changing my ways
Now youíre changing my ways

You save me, save me from myself
There is no one else Iíd lean on
Save me, you save me from myself
There is no one else to set me free

Start, the start of something new
Is what I find when Iím just looking at you
Lift, you lift me off the ground
Keep holding my hand, I wonít land, wonít even look down
Donít look down
Donít look down

Behind the Song:
ďThis is a great song, and I can say that Ďcause I didnít write it. My son, Ryan, introduced me to it, and I just lit up when I heard it. That was over a year and a half ago, and Iím still not tired of listening to the song. That really set the tone for the whole album, And the whole bridgeóman, what a ride. It actually just reminded me of me a little bitóvery, very pop but sort of taking a left turn on the bridge. These writers are awesome, and Iím really grateful that they like the song the way we cut it.Ē - Michael W. Smith
