This verse is from the Bible account of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus is standing before the tomb, commanding that the stone be rolled away. Martha tells Him that her brother has already been dead four days, and the Savior speaks the above words to her. Notice what Jesus says Martha has to do to see God's glory. He says she has to "believe." Seconds later, a resurrection takes place.
In Mark Chapter 5, a synagogue ruler, named Jairus, asks Jesus to come heal his little daughter who is near death. The Master agrees, but before they arrive at the ruler's house, they are told that the little girl is already dead. At this point, Jesus turns to Jairus and says, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Moments later, Jesus takes the child's hand and raises her to life again. Both of these accounts involved the most hopeless situations, and Jesus gave the same instructions each time--"believe." Both times, God displayed His miracle-working power. You may have hopeless circumstances in your life right now. You might even have some dead dreams and visions. If so, the Savior has some words of hope for you today, "My child, don't be afraid--just believe."
Prayer: Lord, today I give You all of my hopeless circumstances and dead
dreams. Take them and breathe life into them. Bring life out of death,
health out of sickness, and prosperity out of poverty. Take away my doubts
and fears, and replace them with a belief that all things are possible with
You. Thank You that I shall see Your glory!
