It's a good day when Ayiesha Woods releases new music. The former Gotee recording artist has been laying low for some time, having only released two new songs in the past five years since her 2020 self-released EP, Full Circle. But her beautiful vocals shouldn't be kept from the world for too long, and she makes a memorable return with "I Have Hope."
Opening softly (and maybe a little misleadingly) with a tender piano, the single finds Ayiesha reflecting on God's goodness and faithfulness before the chorus kicks down the door with the declaration "I. Have. Hope!" It's simple and catchy, but it almost serves as a war cry for a weary soul. As the song concludes, Woods reminds us "It'll be alright," and she has one of those warm and comforting voices that makes you believe it.
In a time when it can be hard to find hope in our day-to-day, Ayiesha Woods offers up a moving single that is a welcomed encouragement and an effective earworm. And thankfully it looks like there's hope for more new music from Woods coming very soon.
