You're down all the way down
Can’t shake the feeling
You’ve tried
You learned how to hide
You’ve got your reasons
I bet
You’re full of regret
Sweet and bitter
Please consider
Sore eyes
What’s up with that face
Think we can trace these lines
Back to fine
I’m sure
You’ve been here before
Sore eyes
Such a sight to see
If I can bring that light
Back to your eyes to stay
What would you say
Instead of walking away
No sign
of roses or wine
But you’ve got my attention
No lines
All out of rhymes
I just wanna hold you
I bet
I’ll make you forget
Loves not bitter
Reconsider
Chorus
Wipe away those sore eyes
You don’t have to cry
Chorus

Behind the Song:“Sore Eyes” is all about wanting to cheer up a girl. I mean, any guy loves the challenge of making a girl who is sad laugh, and to be her knight in shining armor. The thrill of this song is honestly that I wrote it with the guys in Jars of Clay. Jars of Clay’s debut album was the first Christian record that I owned, and I wore it out. I’m so thankful that they have become my friends, but I was really nervous going into write the first time with them, because we hadn’t yet done anything creative together. They’re gracious guys, but when you bring your A-game to the table, you hope that it matches up to what they do. I think the guys would agree that this song came very easily, and we had a great time writing it. The whole band joined in on this one too, including Jeremy Lutito and Gabe Ruschival.” - Brandon Heath
