Thing you MUST Know: I’m kind of a geek and very proud of it. I grew up on Star Trek, video games, and fantasy novels. Nobody told me girls weren’t supposed to like that stuff.
Guilty Pleasures: Cheesy 80’s music and Linkin Park. Sometimes Top 40 radio. I only pretend to be a music snob.
Favorite TV Shows: I don’t really follow any current shows, but Lost is neat (I’m sure I would love it if I could catch up!), The Cosby Show is the best sitcom ever, and crime shows like CSI and NCIS fascinate me.
Favorite Movie: The answer to "Did you see...?" is usually "no." Apparently, I don't watch movies. I like sci-fi / superhero movies and have a low tolerance for chick flicks.
Favorite Books: Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller; Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott; The Great Divorce, The Chronicles of Narnia, and most anything else by C.S. Lewis; A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle; Harry Potter
Favorite Cartoon Characters: Sonic the Hedgehog (yeah, I know... video game character, but when I was your age, Sonic was a cartoon too!)
Favorite Band: Wow, there are so many. Anberlin, The Echoing Green, Switchfoot, Needtobreathe, MuteMath, And Then There Were None, U2, Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie and Coldplay come to mind. For solo artists: Imogen Heap, Phil Danyew, Bebo Norman, Brooke Fraser, Mat Kearney, and Kendall Payne. Okay. I’ll stop now.
Favorite Live Shows: Anberlin, Skillet, Five Iron Frenzy (RIP)... oh, and Aaron Gillespie (Underoath/The Almost) can put on a killer solo acoustic set!
Favorite Food: Tijuana Flats is the best ever for quick yummy Tex-Mex. If you ever come to Florida, do yourself a favor and try it.
Favorite Breakfast Cereal: Frosted Shredded Wheat and Raisin Bran are what I seem to eat a lot of. (I know. Boring.) I’m guessing people expect a fun, sugary cereal for the answer so... hmmm.... Lucky Charms.
Favorite Drink: Starbucks is my vice. Iced caramel macchiato = yum.
Favorite Candy: Kasugai gummies! They’re from Japan and pretty much the best gummy candy ever.
Most Embarassing Moment: Any “falling-while-swing-dancing” moment is pretty bad. The best (worst?) was when I fell over right at the very end of a fast song. My partner tried to break my fall, but I took him down with me instead. And we were attempting a dramatic finish too. Good times.
Little-Known Super Power: Ummm... I can wind cables really fast? Which doesn’t sound like a super power, but I use this ancient audio ninja technique to perfectly coil without tangling them. (See? Geek.) I was told that this is a good way to impress engineers.
