For our 7th annual Highlighting feature, we split the year into TWO pieces -- January to June and July to December. Normally, we select our top 25 most anticipated releases for the whole year, but we realize that it's tough to really gauge EVERYTHING that may release throughout a given year when we're making the list in January. So, for 2012, we split the year into TWO pieces -- January to June and July to December, and we're using this format again for 2013. Also, each list contains 15 artists/releases for a total of 30 in total for 2013.

PLEASE NOTE:
We've already selected the first fifteen artists, so please click here to check those out. If you think an artist may be missing on this list, please keep in mind they may have made our list for the first half of the year before their release date was pushed back to the latter half of the year (like Switchfoot, Five Iron Frenzy and Relient K, for example). Without further ado, we give you Highlighting Second-Half 2013!

#15. Pillar
untitled

Release Date: Late 2013/Early 2014
I'll readily admit that I was underwhelmed with Pillar's last label release, Confessions. But Where Do We Go From Here remains to this day one of my favorite rock albums, and the band as a whole has churned out some fantastic works. I was very excited to hear that the pre-2009 lineup was reuniting and I readily look forward to hear what they can do without the presence of a record label.
        - Mark Rice

Pillar has been on hiatus for sometime now, so there's no doubt fans are ecstatic to finally see a new record. Will Pillar return to their status as a Christian rock favorite, or fall into obscurity with other newer bands taking their place? I'm pulling for these guys to rise above and give us a great product.
        - Michael Weaver

Ever since the release of Fireproof in 2002, I can't seem to allow a Pillar record slide by without checking it out. They may never have another "album of the year" applied to them again, but I still enjoy most of their stuff. Call it nostalgia, but I still get stoked when I hear that they're coming out with something new and this time is no different.
        - Kevin Hoskins
