Matthew Konradt of Relentless Pursuit is a shining example of what hard work and dedication to your craft can become. Konradt has continuously put out music and made it available for critique. Instead of getting upset at a less than stellar review, he has consistently learned from them and allowed them to fuel his creativity. His newest single, "Repercussions," is the best possible example of this. The track starts with an ominous guitar lead before going into a heavy and chunky riff. Once the verse starts, Konradt hits you with some nice layered vocals. The growl of "It's just a figment of your imagination," sounds great, but the higher scream underneath it really adds a depth and fullness. From here, Konradt successfully uses a combination of the lower growl and high scream alone as well as layering them together. It's small things like this that help RP's newest single to standout from previous works. The cleaner vocal chorus features him singing, "You really want the knife? You really want to fight? You really want to try for what you can't get," while channeling his inner Mark Salomon. These are some of the best clean vocals from RP to date and are very reminiscent of old school Stavesacre. Musically, the song is very solid as well. The riff is thick and heavy, the big open chorus works well, and the guitar leads are simple, but complement everything musically. The flow of everything (including lyrically) is spot on and the production sounds great.

"Repercussions" is by far the best material released by Matthew Konradt and Relentless Pursuit to date. The growth here has been noticeable and quite impressive. Konradt is due for his "spotlight" moment here at JFH and he has definitely earned it. I'm looking forward to hearing the upcoming 2024 album and hope we get an album full of great music like this.
