Switchfoot bass player Tim Foreman steps up to the microphone as
Bongo Chico with the first single from his upcoming full-length Self-titled album. Sounding understandably akin to his older brother Jon vocally, Tim musically leans into the more experimental side of their mutual main gig. "When You Walked Away" is an indie alt-rock song featuring fuzzy guitars and an insanely catchy melody that had me tapping my toe, trying to sing along immediately. With shades of The Beach Boys in the vocal treatment, the psychedelic pop of the 60s (think The Zombies), and the chamber pop of Vampire Weekend, this listener is more than ready to hear more of what the younger Foreman has cooked up.
