The product of singer/songwriter Austin Wade,
Revelators Music, is a modern pop project that seeks to bring glory to God and encourage fellow believers. A pretty eclectic act, Wade's music has dabbled in alternative, acoustic pop, and even tropical island rhythms. His latest creation, "Light, Sweet Satisfaction," takes an easygoing, guitar-led ballad and blends in a light synthpop sound. The song is a pure love song, but directed toward the feelings of bliss, joy, and satisfaction we can experience in God's presence. The music and lyrics complement each other very well, as the song attempts to set a relaxing tone while Wade sings, "
Satisfaction, fill my cup / You are the name we all dream of / sinking in graceful waters / light, sweet, and free / You paid for me." Truthfully, the song does a lot of things well, but some of its flaws are unfortunately a bit too glaring. Wade's vocals aren't particularly strong, and both he and guest vocalist Violet Alexandria lean into a singing style that, while popular in a lot of modern worship music, may be difficult to adjust to for those who don't listen to modern worship music. Additionally, though the music itself is rather enjoyable, and the general idea of the song is really well-thought-out, it ends up being a little too repetitive. Another musical element or layer may be just what it needs. Flaws aside, though, "Light, Sweet Satisfaction" is a track with a lot of heart and even more potential. Fans of artists like John Mark Pantana and Philip Shibata may be interested in what Revelators Music has to offer.
