Tool of God One (TOG-1) has a long history with hip-hop, but after some disappointments and record deals falling through, he stepped away from the game. After discovering one of his songs was used without permission on a popular hip-hop compilation, TOG-1 felt God calling him back to hip-hop -- except this time the Kingdom of God is his focus. TOG-1's newest single, "Real Men Love Jesus," conveys a very simple message: "
Real men love Jesus that's why we don't care who sees us." In the chorus, TOG-1 borrows from DMX as he sings, "
Stop. Drop. God's gonna open up shop. Are you ready? I was born ready. That's how warriors roll." The song isn't a "Ruff Ryders Anthem" parody by any means; it has its own beat, sound, and even the part that pays homage doesn't sound exactly like DMX either. The song itself is only a short two minutes long and features an electric guitar throughout, adding a little more energy to the beat. It's just a couple of verses and a chorus, but it gives you a little taste of what TOG-1 has to offer with his return to hip-hop: An energetic sound, a love for Christ, and an unashamed nature in showing it. Fans of a more high-energy hip-hop should enjoy "Real Men Love Jesus" and Tool of God One's return to hip-hop.
