PTtheGospelSpitter has spent the last ten years dropping occasional singles in an effort to glorify the Lord through his musical talents. His latest effort, "Save Your Soul," calls on fellow artist Preacherman to help create an R&B flavored hip-hop track that has enough melody and rapping to fit on either rap or pop radio. The song blends a few different rap styles together, as well. The chorus is entirely sung and heavily auto-tuned, while the verses are a mix of modern trap and '00s era crunk. Preacherman’s flow and rougher vocal style remind me of rappers like Mr. Del and Pettidee (though a lot less gravelly than the latter). It does sound a little dated for 2025, but fans of that style may still gravitate to this sound. The message of the song, however, is for everyone - by design. PT and Preacherman call out to God's people and to the world, both to celebrate salvation and to invite people to know God's grace. The lyricism isn't always super strong ("
Conduct worthy, conduct clean / conduct for you, conduct me / hear of my affairs when my conduct beams / conduct simple, conduct seen"), but the invitation to salvation doesn't get lost in the shuffle ("
To the rest of the world that be lost in sin / know there's hope in Christ so you can win / know that grace from the Lord will bring power untold / so when you approach the throne, God'll save your soul"). "Save Your Soul" is likely to resonate with a fairly niche audience stylistically, but if you enjoy the aforementioned artists and what they brought to the table, you may be interested in PTtheGospelSpitter's offerings as well.
