The Frye Family Band is a southern gospel/country band releasing their 8th recording. While the band is still a family affair, the line-up has changed with Tom Frye's daughters stepping away to focus on their own families. Instead, Jonathan Frye's wife, Mane, is stepping in to fill the void left, and to provide the female vocals on This is Your Victory. The Frye Family band has shared the stage with several prominent artists and has charted a #1 song on the CMW Country radio chart. Despite changes to the line-up, Tom Frye and family hope to continue this legacy.

This is Your Victory is an 8-track set of new material with a previously released single, "Not A Babe Anymore," included as a bonus track. The album is full of slower to mid-tempo songs praising the name of Jesus. Things open with the lead single and Mane singing about God's presence despite us not always feeling Him there. The newest Frye Family Band member sings, "He's still there when you can't see him. He hears your prayers when you can't hear him. He heals your pain when you can't feel Him. And when you don't believe it, He's still there." It's a great reminder and sets the tone for the rest of the album full of acoustic guitar and piano. Tom and Mane are the two prominent vocalists throughout the album and their dynamic works well together. Jonathon does get a single song in "Resurrection Sunday," but in general, Mane steals the show. Her vocals stand out in each song as lead, background, or harmony. It's a strong performance that makes the change easier to take.

Song like "He's Still There," "Greater," and "This Truth Remains" are the standouts here. The biggest complaint comes in the way of variety. The songs are around the same tempo and contain the same type of instrumentation. That doesn't mean the songs aren't good, but you don't get a lot of different flavors to savor here. The production isn't bad by any means, but there are noticeable flaws. For instance, you can hear background noise and some mild hissing in the recording for "This Truth Remains." It's a mild nitpick, but it's something you may notice throughout your listening experience as well.

All in all, This is Your Victory shows a longtime family band making adjustments through change, praising the name of Jesus in the good and bad times, and serves as a solid set of country/gospel songs. Fans of the Frye Family Band, or the genre in general, should definitely give this one a listen.
