Veteran indie artist
Tool of God One is back with a new single. While a lot of his music is hip-hop and dance-related tracks crafted for a club setting, his newest single is an acoustic based song that is a bit more touching. "We'll Meet Again" is a tribute to TOG-1's rap partner Da Child's mother. While TOG-1 doesn't necessary talk about the disease that Da Child's mother had, it can assumed that it was something like dementia or Alzheimer's as TOG-1 raps, "
The disease though took your memories, though. And now I'm not sure that you remember me, though." The lyrics are heartfelt and lightly rapped over a beautifully picked acoustic guitar. The song's main theme addresses how, as believers in Christ, we'll see our loved ones again someday in heaven. It's a promise that all of us who have lost loved ones cling to. However, the song also has a secondary message in the lyrics that talks about how your family and close friends are there for you and love you -- even in the midst of a struggle with a terminal disease. This one is very different from the last few Tool of God One's tracks, but it's still a needed message. We all know someone that has died of a disease like this, or have a friend who has gone through the same situation. "We'll Meet Again" offers hope in the loss: hope that if you're the one dealing with circumstances like this, that God, your family, and your friends are there and love you unconditionally. Beyond that, it offers the great hope that we will get to see these important people in our lives again one day. This one is a lovely track that pays tribute and offers hope to those experiencing loss. "We'll Meet Again" is worth checking out -- especially if you find yourself in a similar situation.
