Let the thief make honest work with his hands
Been takin’ for so long
It’s time to give back
And let the weak stay strong in their love
It’s a hard road to take
To say that you ain’t enough

But you’ve got wings like eagles under the sun
You’ve got your fountains full from the Lord and his love
And you’ve got work to do, boy
You ain’t your father’s son
It’s time to take up your cross and know that it has been done

Let your prayers never find cease
Are you prayin’ for yourself or are you prayin’ for peace?
Let those prayers be for humility
You’ll find those doors unlocked and then you’ll be free

‘Cause you’ve got wings like eagles under the sun
You’ve got your fountains full from the Lord and his love
And you’ve got work to do, boy
You ain’t your father’s son
It’s time to take up your cross and know that it has been done

So let the thief find his life again
Let the weak find strength in the end
And let Jesus defeat what has us dead
Son, that man, he is risen
He ain’t restin’ his head

You’ve got wings like eagles under the sun
You’ve got your fountains full from the Lord and his love
And you’ve got work to do, boy
You ain’t your father’s son
It’s time to take up your cross and know that it has been done
It’s time to take up your cross and know that it has been done
It’s time to take up your cross and know that it has been done
