'I'm here for you' she said
And we can stay for a while
My boyfriend's gone
We can just pretend
Lips that need no introduction
Now who's the greater sin
Your drab eyes seem to invite
Tell me darling, where do we begin?
Was this over before
Before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hands
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Everyone in this town
Is seeing somebody else
Everybody's tired of someone
Our eyes wander for help
Prayers that need no answer now
Cuz I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake
I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest sin
Was this over before
Before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hands
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Failure is your disease
You want my outline drawn
You are my greatest failure
Discourse your saving song
Was this over before
Before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hands
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands

Behind the Song:'I think it is so funny when people say they liked the original version of this song, the only difference is that there is an intro and I don’t scream 4 words in the bridge.
What people are really trying to say when they say that to their friends is ‘look at me, I am cooler than you, I knew them before you did’. I am not sure why people think they are so special when they find music before someone else. Just because you checked Pitchfork or AP.net an hour before someone else doesn’t make you unique it just makes you bored. You were bored before someone else. Congrats.
The NTFP version wasn’t better, in fact it wasn’t even supposed to go on the record, in fact Aaron Sprinkle didn’t even record the vocals, he was out of town, his intern Zac did.
So the next time someone feels the need to tell us on our own social media page that the original version was better I wish they would just say ‘hey I wish you would have not re-recorded that version because I liked it better when you were still living with your parents & you had to sell your car because you couldn’t afford the insurance and the song was stuck at the end of a record that didn’t really see the light of day. The fact that it went number 1 on alternative radio and eventually went gold is irrelevant in my opinion and in no way validates its rerelease. I am bored. I am cool.”
The fact that we rerecorded this song and it did so well prolonged our careers for years. If you like any song off of Dark, Vital, or Lowborn you can thank FGD in all its rerecordeness for the opportunity to exist.' - Stephen Christian
