Can I lie here in Your arms
Can I lie here in Your arms
My only calm is You
Save me
Can I lie here in Your arms
Can I lie here in Your arms
My only thought is You
Save me
Can I lie here in Your arms
Can I lie here in Your arms
My happiness is You
Save me
How how lovely this place
To be with You
To be with You
Oh the brightness of Your face
Here with You
Here with You
Rest Your hand upon my head
Just a touch
Could raise the dead
My only calm is You
My only thought is You
My happiness is You
My happiness is You
To be with You
To be with You
Behind the Song:'Can I Lie is structurally one of the more unorthodox songs on the album, in that it doesn’t really have a chorus, but rather an A, B, with a C refrain, of sorts, at the end. This song approaches the line of romantic imagery within the music of the Church with out getting too creepy, or so the band hopes. If you are uncomfortable with the romantic imagery, it is also a pun that asks the question, “is it possible to be anything less than authentic in the presence of the divine?” The answer to this should bring with it great relief. Also, this is the only song the band has recorded in which a large portion of the drums was actually tracked in an empty garage.' - David Crowder
