So maybe when we’re older
If we get a little bolder
We’ll be famous and they’ll say remember when
When they were younger
And their band played in the summer
Everyone around for sure thought they’d go far
I used to know everybody at the show
And they were the people in my songs
But it’s changing now, for better hope somehow
But the song is all they know
Confetti smile, smile the widest when the cameras come your way
It’s your style, paparazzi got you in their sights today
It’s been a while, so I doubt that you’d remember me at all
It’s funny how life is
At the end of some reception
In the fore mask of deception
A girl said may I have this dance with you
And though I held her close
Dancing to the song she chose
I could tell it wasn’t me that caught her eye
How does it look, is the cause for the decision
Whatever they think, is the motive for ambition
Public relations and everything they say, is all that matters now
Confetti smile, smile the widest when the cameras come your way
It’s your style, paparazzi got you in their sights today
It’s been a while, so I doubt that you’d remember me at all
It’s funny how life is
Is this who I am?
Is this who I am?
Is this who I am?
Is this who?
I used to know everybody at the show
And they were the people in my songs
But it’s changing now, for better hope somehow
But the song is all they know
Confetti smile, smile the widest when the cameras come your way
It’s your style, paparazzi got you in their sights today
It’s been a while, so I doubt that you’d remember me at all
It’s funny how life is

Behind the Song:"Finally, the last song!! This song is all about the importance of being genuine in what you say and do. One of the coolest experiences I ever had was going to the house of Canadian jazz legend Oscar Peterson to receive an award. The thing that stayed with me after I met him, was his humbleness and genuine interest in congratulating me. My award was pretty big, but it was nothing in comparison to everything he had done. However, in spite of that, he was extremely encouraging and seemed proud of what I had done.
There's a lot of people I look up to, and while I respect a lot of people for their accomplishments, there's another group of people I really look up to because they've excelled in their careers and in spites of the success, they have remained wonderful people. People like that are a big part of why I am here doing music. Their talent has given them credibility and their humbleness has allowed them to go out of their way to encourage me. Because of people like that, I really try as much as possible to be genuine in "walking the talk". Sometimes it can be hard, especially when you're away from home, and the food is bad and you're not sleeping well. However, all of us in the band, would not be doing what we're doing if it wasn't for the incredible people we've all looked up to over the years, and let me tell you, we feel we'd be letting them down if we didn't try to do to others, what they did for us." - Nathan Piché (
