Behind the Song:
"We wrote this song and recorded the first version of it in the sanctuary of our church where we practice. It is fitting that the song came about in the place where so many have come to know Christ. Wherever someone gets saved, though, making a decision to follow Christ is the most important step anyone could ever take. It is truly a life changing experience. "Declaration" was written as if speaking to someone who has just come to know Christ, telling that person to not be ashamed of this new faith and to go out and declare it to the world in all you say and do. We shouldn't be ashamed of what we have in Christ. If we use our time to share this love with our world—the people we see day in and day out and the strangers that pass us by—then maybe they too will know there's much more to being a Christian than a title and church attendance. They'll see that there's peace, joy, hope, and love in God.
