Just like the ones who came before us
Just like the ones who gave their lives
Lord we will leave this place with You
And we will go, we will go
Just as You came to earth from heaven
Humbled yourself to give your life
We want to follow and obey you
So we will go, we will go
Light of the world, you've shone on us
You've filled our hearts with hope that reaches out
Friend of the lost come burn in me
Make me a flame, set me on fire to be a light in the world
Just as they prayed to you for power that they'd be bold to speak your word
Father we ask that you would fill us as we go, as we go
Just as they asked you for salvation, just as they prayed for kingdom signs
Lord would you send us with Your spirit as we go, as we go
Light of the world, you've shone on us
You've filled our hearts with hope that reaches out
Friend of the lost, saviour to me,
Make me a flame, set me on fire to be a light in the world
Set me on fire, Lord make me a flame
Release your fire please do it again...
Set me on fire, Lord make me a flame
Release your fire please

Behind the Song:"J.I. Packer wrote that often the greatest developments in theology and
right doctrine come through conflict or at least disagreement in the
church. This song is part of an on going discussion about how we
understand mission as the church and was written in response to
Diane Thiel's beautiful song 'If you say go'. Same characters, different
moment. 'If you say go' is Peter telling Jesus he'll walk on water if
Jesus asks him too. 'We will go', is a response to Jesus' last gospel
word to his followers - 'go into all the world ....' If it's a question of
whether we take the hope of Jesus outside the walls of the church or
not the answer has been given. Go. I notice that Tim and Soul
Survivor have just released an album called 'we must go'. I guess the
debate is heating up! Jude helped me finish the chorus. Our first cowrite!!" - Brenton Brown
