What would it take
To make you see me
The way I see you?
What would it take
To make you want me the way I've always wanted you?
I don't know why
You're in everything I see
I can't deny
That you're everything I need
So I'm reaching ...
Whatever it takes to get to you
Whatever it takes to break through
Whatever it takes you are my reason
For everything I do
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes to get to you
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
What would it take
To make you fall for me
The way I fell for you?
What would it take
To make you right for me
The way I always fought for you?
I don't know why
You bring me to my knees
But I can't unwind
From how you've twisted me
But I'm reaching...
Whatever it takes to get to you
Whatever it takes to break through
Whatever it takes you are my reason
For everything I do
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes to get to you
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes
To get to you!
To get to you!
To get to you!
Whatever it takes to get to you
Whatever it takes to break through
Whatever it takes you are my reason
For everything I do
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes to get to you
(Whatever it takes)
Whatever it takes
(Whatever it takes)
Behind the Song:'We added this song at the last second. I started writing it from the perspective of how I pursued my wife when I first met her. When you meet that someone in your life, you just outright pursue them with focused determination to win her heart. And then after you've been married for awhile, your wife starts questioning where that guy went. With that thought of doing whatever it would take to win their heart over--even if they said, 'No, I don't want to be with you,' or 'I want to break up,' there was a resilience there. But that resilience pales in comparison to God's pursuit of the human heart. He will do whatever it takes to get to you.'--Rob Beckley (
Pillar)
