Been stuck there under the gun
Tired of livin’ like the prodigal son
Everything has come undone
And left me wanting
I’m naked for the world to see
So hungry on the inside to believe
Come down and direct my feet
Start me running
Chorus
I’ve been outta touch
But I’m reconnecting
I’ve had enough of my own way
And I’m tired of rejecting
I realized it was all a lie
So I climbed down from the edge
I’ve been outta touch
But I’m reconnecting
To You
I can feel You under my skin
Wanna have You light me up again
Tell me where I should begin
Keep me turning
Power comes from Your extension
The words You speak are my intervention
Give me sight to know Your intention
Light me
I’m burning
Chorus

Behind the Song:'This was the last song to make it on the record. There were a couple tunes vying for the final slot, and “Reconnecting” came out on top. Musically it has a very modern feel. It was initially written as a possible dc talk song. The lyric gives a snapshot of a person who’s tired of running from God. They’re exhausted by their own futile attempts to make life work. On some level, I think this happens to all of us. We sort of go off and do our own thing until it collapses, and then we wake up and say, “I really need to reconnect with God. I need to plug back in to the power source.”' - Michael Tait
