You're in one of those seasons
Everything seems to go so wrong
Wish I could give you a reason
But even I'm barely holding on
When it's hard to find the answers
Let this be your hope
God only knows all your broken pieces
Only He knows what you're going through
God only knows what you hide inside
And He's holding onto you
God only knows
You've had your fill of questions
There's so much that you need to know
I don't blame you for asking
But it's time to let go of control
And I'm sorry for what you're feeling
Please hold on to this hope
Come on, come on, He knows your pain
Come on, come on, hold onto faith
Come on, come on, you're on your way
My friend, your struggle has an ending day
Only He knows
Only He knows
Only He knows

Behind the Song:'This is probably my most overt lyric on the album. My sister Sarah, 26, is a certified genius. She graduated in the
top of her college in neurobiology, physiology and human behavior, and went on to get her Masters of Divinity. My
tower of a sister not long ago just went into the hospital ICU with an aneurism. I could not understand why or how.
This song represents my incomprehension of why things happen that can literally rip you in half – like when my
sister’s not moving and can’t talk, and we don’t know if she’ll ever come out of it. It just says, “God you know
everything that’s going on. You know every cell of her body because you made it. These are broken pieces of life
that right now just feel very sharp. But you take them and make them into a beautiful mosaic.” It’s full of inquisition,
asking Him why. God’s not freaked out by those questions. Only he knows what we’re going through – whatever it
is in our life. Sometimes he doesn’t give us the answers right away, but what he does tell us is that he’s with us the
whole way through. God has now healed my sister miraculously—she has gone home and doctors are amazed at
how quickly she is healing.' - Joy Williams
