What can I do to make you smile again?
How can I prove that I've got your best interest at hand
My love for you is more than anything you'll ever know
So if you need me to show you - say it
‘Cause I don't mind
And you don't have to hold your head down
Walking 'round disappointed
I'll do anything but let you down
Can I get a little credit
If you need me to show you - say it
'Cause I don't mind
Where is your faith
Haven't I proven myself before
If the window is closed
Won't I open a door
’Cause my love for you is more than anything you'll ever know
So if you need me to show you - say it
‘Cause I don't mind
I put the sun in the sky
And I make the moon shine at night
But you are the apple of my eye (yes you are)
So if you need me to show you - say it
And you don't have to hold your head down
Walking 'round disappointed
I'll do anything but let you down
Can I get a little credit
If you need me to show you - say it
'Cause I don't mind
Behind the Song:"Back in 2000, we lived in Orlando, FL for a short season after having done some ministry work in Hawaii. My parents were thinking of buying a home there when God spoke to my dad and said "Dallas, TX." My mother had her house set on the house she wanted to buy in Orlando. Although God spoke Dallas to my father, he was not sure of the season; and so they pursued the house that my mother fell in love with. Contrarily, things weren’t panning out to purchase the house, and my mother was so discouraged. I felt terrible and I remember thinking of how faithful God is how all things work together for the good of them that love God and are the called according to His purpose Ro. 8:28!
So one early evening, during this time of disappointment for my mother, I was sitting at my keyboard in our (then) family room when God just began to minister to me about the whole thing and reminded me of how sovereign He is. It was almost as if He were prompting me to prophetically proclaim to her that He cares about everything concerning her and that He doesn't mind showing her because He knew her desires and He was still God! When I played the song for my mother she just cried.
Needless to say, we ended up moving to Dallas just as God had previously spoken soon after! We moved into a better house than what she was ever looking at, Glory to God! With ease and smooth transactions and have been blessed because of obedience to God's word. So thank God for "I Don't Mind." It's just a reminder of God's unending faithfulness on a personal level! That's "MOM'S SONG!"" - Ayiesha Woods
