Have you heard of Anthem Lights? How about Yellow Cavalier? No, not that beat up old car your buddy drives; I'm talking about a pure pop band that's mixing a little southern twang into their tunes. Well, this foursome just signed to Reunion Records (home of Casting Crowns, Michael W. Smith, Tenth Avenue North) and while they used to go by Yellow Cavalier, they now go by Anthem Lights. With a full length album drop slated for May this year, they've released a little sampling of what's to come.

The first track, "Can't Shut Up" is a straight-up pop tune with some nice electronica sound mixed in for good measure. The chorus has an anthem feel to it, while the lyrics focus on God being all we need and being unable to keep it quiet. "I Wanna Know You Like That" showcases the aforementioned southern twang and it's a different (but good) musical sound with the message of wanting to know God deeper. The third and final installment on this short EP is "Can't Get Over You;" This song comes from the softer side of the band, and the worshipful track delivers moving lyrics such as "Hold me, pull me just a little bit closer, I don't wanna lose this moment. Your love has covered me and now I can't get over You." Overall, the album showcases as much diversity as possible in a limited three track listing.

This is a very God-focused album that sends home a great message for all who are fans of the pop genre. All of the tracks are pretty good, and it's a nice taste of what is to come later on this spring.
