Eclipse was Idle Cure's final release after a two-plus year hiatus from recording. They switched producers to Billy Smiley, the Whiteheart mainstay, and well-known studio ace. All the elements are present here for Idle Cure fans: great writing, superlative vocals, wonderful arrangements. The effort lacks a bit of the hard edge found in previous albums, but offers a new musicality and insight, showing the band still had some growth potential. The cover was bold and daring, showing the band like their music to be on the cutting edge of Christian R&R.
Top tracks include "What's Your Point of View," "Never Say Goodbye," and "Living Water." All in all, Eclipse was an extraordinary excursion into this musical realm, and well worth the listen!
