The Pennsylvania-based pop/rock band, Everlife, consists of three young girls following the road God is leading them down. Julia (14), Sarah (17), and Amber Ross (19) started the band during the Christmas of '99 when Julia (then only 9 years old) proposed the idea. Performing at numerous music festivals, opening for some of the more mainstream Christian artists, playing on missions trips, and being heard on Pennsylvania's #1 Christian music station, FISH, Everlife is gaining momentum. Under Tovah Music/Crowne Music, the girls have composed their first album, Everlife.
Their self-titled debut, Everlife, produced by Kevan Cyka (Hillary Duff, Jump 5) and Dan Needham (Stacie Orrico, Steven Curtis Chapman), is full of exhilarating vocals and attuned harmonies. With the trio's natural ability for songwriting, their skillfulness on several instruments, and an amazing work ethic, their dream has become a reality. While the album focuses on the joy you can have in knowing Christ and the challenges in your daily walk, it is also very personal.
Starting off the album is the energetic "Heaven Open Your Eyes", followed by "Take a Ride". These songs aren't just songs that you listen to, they're songs that you can feel. Throughout the whole record you find a dominant message with powerful music to back it up. The trio claims that most of their song ideas were born while on missions trips to Central and South America, therefore there is a great focus on missions throughout the album. Further in the album you find their #1 single on PA Christian radio stations, "Lead the Way". With a slower beat and a touching message, this song stands out from the rest. Everywhere you turn you find those strong vocals and amazing harmonies. Stacie Orrico and maybe Point of Grace fans (if they're open to a more rock based sound) may find an appreciation for this rising band. Definitely keep an eye out for their new album, Everlife.
