I first heard Project 86's Truthless Heroes album, and then Songs To Burn Your Bridges By. Project 86 quickly became my favorite band. I wanted to purchase every album and was blessed last Christmas when I obtained their self-titled debut and its follow-up Drawing Black Lines.
The debut album is good. There are only three songs, however, that stand out to me as amazing: "Pipe Dream" is an incredible blend of rap and rock that has a strong climax that would blow anyone away. "Six Sirens" is another wonderful rap/rock song featuring guest vocals from the ever-famous P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sondoval. "When Darkness Reigns" starts off dark and dismal, but is one of the most inspiring songs I've ever heard, talking about rising from dark and terrible events.
The rest of this album is decent, but nothing but these three songs really stood out. There are some catchy choruses in them, but I got somewhat bored with the spoken word. This was the first record by my favorite band, and it set the stage for their explosive sophomore release, Drawing Black Lines. For anyone that considers themselves a Project 86 fan, I recommend you add this one to your collection.
