JFH (John DiBiase): How did the collaboration with Decyfer Down's TJ Harris come about for this new version of "Resurrecting Reasons?"
Kevin Young: We've been friends with Decyfer Down and TJ for a long time, going back to our early days of touring. We are huge fans of TJ's voice, and knew that this song in particular would be a great fit for his powerful vocal style.
Josiah Prince: We asked if TJ would be down to feature on the track, and he went above and beyond with all the vocals he tracked for us. The emotion has been taken to a whole new level! We also made a music video for the song, with all of us in the studio playing together, and that turned out awesome as well.
JFH (John): Tell us a little about this song. What is the story behind it? What do you hope listeners will take away from its message?
Kevin: "Resurrecting Reasons" is a song born out of the discovery of God's faithfulness in our darkest and most undeserving times. The song musically hearkens back to a vintage Disciple sound, delivering a more organic offering to our fans. We hope that anyone who hears it can resonate with the feeling of being at your lowest low, and still finding the love of God surrounding you.
JFH (John): For anyone unfamiliar with the upcoming release of the Skeleton Psalms Deluxe Edition, what can fans expect with it?
Andrew Stanton: We wanted to give our fans a substantial offering with this Deluxe expansion. We're excited for listeners to be able to take a longer journey by way of these new tracks, as well as re-imaginings and live performances. The live songs in particular have a special energy - they were recorded at the Skeleton Psalms album release show in 2023, and they really capture the magic that we feel on stage with these songs.
JFH (John): What's next for Disciple after the release of the Skeleton Psalms Deluxe?
Josiah: No slowing down any time soon! We are already writing new material for the next Disciple album, and will be playing plenty of summer festivals, as well as tours with our friends Decyfer Down (spring) and Seventh Day Slumber (fall). And as always, we are creating new videos and behind-the-scenes content every month on The Rebel Society (our Patreon community). Anybody who has not joined us there yet...well, they're missing out.
