Let The Road Pave Itself cover
09. Before the Sun Goes Down
Album: Let The Road Pave Itself
Artist: Phillip LaRue

My words fall like leaves from fall trees
Get lost in the wind and then I’m back again
With my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth

I want to say what I feel when I’m feeling it
I want to feel what I say when I’m saying it
But the words don’t come out

I know that I hurt you
And I don’t know what to do
It feels like your hiding from my eyes
And baby I don’t blame you

But open up your heart
Don’t let this fall apart
All I want for you to know
This is burning up my soul
My defense is to the ground
Will you throw away your doubt?
Before the sun goes down

Well everything in me says run away
You know I want to but I’ll stay
The damage done and your undone
It’s 8’oclock and it starts to rain

I want to shed this skin shed my pride
I want to live within at least tonight
I want to feel your heart against my chest
I want to kiss you love until I loose this breath

Phillip LaRue / Paul Moak
