Big Town cover
11. Walk to the Well
Album: Big Town
Artist: Ashley Cleveland

Too many wrong men, too many bad calls
Too much the victim, too few the cracks in the wall
Too little freedom for a believer
Too close for comfort to the deceiver
Something is wrong with this picure
Inside a twisted frame
I thought I was a new creature
But I feel much the same

Chorus:
Take a walk to the well
Taste living water
Live to tell of a faithful Father
Get up and walk
Just go on

Too poor in spirit, too rich in vice
Short of compassion and long on spite
No thoughts eternal in my head
No grasp of grace, I wonder why His blood was shed for me
I like it solitary
I don't let nobody in
That kind of closeness scares me
I don't know where to begin

Chorus

I asked to see what was hidden
I saw the depth and the scope
Of disappointment and longing
I saw my sin and my hope
My hope

Chorus
