Lose This Life cover
11. Wait
Album: Lose This Life
Artist: Tait

Looking out my front door
I see a frantic world desperate for more
Quick fix at your fingertips
The longer it takes the harder it gets

Chorus
But I’ll wait for You
To give me everything I need
I’m gonna wait for You
You make my life complete

We want it all and we want it now
Caught in a high speed chase can’t slow down
Headed for a panic attack
I gotta get off this one way track

Chorus
(So I’ll wait for You)

I’m gonna wait wait wait for You
You’re the perfect one for me
I’m gonna wait wait wait for You
I know You see the deepest part of me
But still Your love for me’s a mystery

Words by Michael Tait, Chad Chapin, and Mark Heimermann Music by Michael Tait and Chad Chapin ©2003 Out Of Twisted Roots Music (BMI) admin by EMI CMP / CEC Animal Music (BMI) / Fun Attic Music (ASCAP)

Behind the Song:
'Waiting on the Lord, or waiting for anything really, is something our generation doesn’t manage very well. We tend to want everything yesterday, and yesterday might even be too late. This rambunctious little rocker takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to the realization that God’s layaway plan is always better than our own, and if we wait on Him, good will always come of it.' - Michael Tait
