Dissenter cover
07. Heretic
Album: Dissenter
Artist: Haste The Day

So you say that I’m a heretic
All is well if everything comes down to this
Can’t escape if what you say is accurate
Just walk away
Cause I am just a heretic
Worship your wealth and power
Nurture your influence
Ignore your invitation
Murder the messenger

Make no mistake
You already know
You will reap just what you sow

While you sit up in your ivory tower
He gathers up the streets
Your riches will be your reward
The meek will live eternally
It’s not a god it’s an idol
Open up your eyes
Your god is an idol
You’re worshiping lies

Make no mistake
You already know
You will reap just what you sow
You already know

But I am just a heretic.

Behind the Song:
'Heretic' marks a clear defiance of religious and political power. The character is now a full dissenter, aware of false idols and corruption.
