The Holding cover
02. Mary
Album: The Holding
Artist: Sarah Masen

I walk your story in my mind
I slip into that day and dream away
I see the secret in the smile you wear
And the gift you hold inside
When most had lost all hope for
You held on
It was a clever costume He wore
To fool them all

Oh mary
Rock the baby close
Oh mary
Love binds
The child is there
The kingdom in His eyes
Oh mary
What a surprise

They want a king
The good that they had hoped for
Is what they had failed to see
It was a dream that you held anchored
The truth for you and me

Oh mary
Rock the baby close
Oh mary
Love binds
The child is there
The Kingdom in His eyes
Oh mary
What a surprise

I feel the wonder in your stare
There’s a Christ-child laying there
Oh

Oh mary
Rock the baby close
Oh mary
Love binds
Oh the child is there
The kingdom in His eyes
Oh mary
What a surprise
Oh mary
Rock the baby close
The child is there
Oh mary
What a surprise
