New Christian artist, Mandisa, has already opened up her music career with her first full album, True Beauty, reelased earlier this year. Her new Christmas Joy EP only adds to her success.
The EP opens up with "What Christmas Mean To Me," an upbeat, catchy love-song of sorts. "Joy To The World" follows, a more modern version of the classic hymn. This song has a swing feel which compliments Mandisa's voice. "Christmas Makes Me Cry" follows after, featuring Matthew West and is the highlight of the EP. West's voice blends nicely with Mandisa's, and the song is packed with emotion as Mandisa stretches her voice to the max. Finally, "O Holy Night" closes the EP, slowing things down and making for an appropriate ending.
Although the EP only boasts four tracks, this is a great addition to any Christmas collection. Mandisa seems to be headed in the right direction for a very successful career.
