The latest in Forefront's "Greatest Hits" series comes from possibly one of the most groundbreaking artists in CCM history: dc Talk. While created with good intentions (to introduce the band to a new audience), is this album worth picking up at your local retailer or downloading from iTunes? Not really. This collection features some of the band's most well-known hits; opening with the unforgettable "Jesus Freak" and closing with a decent remix of "The Hardway," but some true dc Talk fans who already own all twelve tracks will be sorely disappointed in the lack of any unique or new material (the "Hardway" remix having been previously released on Intermission) or fan favorites like "Walls," "Heavenbound," or their cover of "Jesus is Just Alright."
In short, if you already own all of this album (which is not a worthy substitute for Intermission), you may want to skip it. If not, I highly recommend buying or downloading the original albums or simply picking up a copy of their 2007 Greatest Hits album instead.
