After almost a seven-year hiatus, Jonah 33 has emerged of the woodwork. First, front man Vince Lichlyter recently dropped a couple of EPs (one teamed up with his wife and one solo act) and now a five-track sampling from his band, titled Dead Man Walking. For those who haven't heard of the band, they have an alternative rock sound that fans of Disciple or Skillet generally will enjoy, and this short EP is no different.

"Blood Is Thicker" is being released as a single and is staple Jonah 33: nice riffs, fast-paced drums, and Vince's raspy vocals combining for a solid rock sound. "Everybody Knows" and "He Said" follow the same style musically, with the former pleading with listeners to live for now and stop making excuses, while the latter is a plea from our Savior to "Come to Me, I will give you rest, come to Me, I'll show you how to live instead." Both tracks have great messages and fit in nicely on the EP. "Dead Man Walking" goes the softer route, even bringing a hint of country in a track about struggles from one who is searching in life. "Bullet From A Gun" is a moving track about needing forgiveness. Both songs uncover a lighter side to Jonah33 and make the EP complete.

It's difficult to judge how good a project is with only five samplings, but if these songs are what Jonah33 has in store for a full-length release, then many fans will be paying attention.
