JFH Music Review

Never Say Dinosaur
(Various Artists)

Album length: 12 tracks
Street Date: 1995

Never Say Dinosaur is one of the best tribute albums of all time, especially for a Christian band that has changed the face of Christian rock music like Petra has.

Never Say Dinosaur isn't what you would expect. The artists do more than justice to the classic Christian rock songs made famous by this legendary act. Artists like Jars of Clay, Sarah Jahn, and Sixpence None the Richer not only capture the original spirit of the songs, but actually improve what was thought at the time to be perfect songs. I would recomend this album to fans of Petra and to anyone who enjoys contemporary Christian rock.

JFH Staff's Additional 2 Cents

An impressive lineup to say the least. Being a late Pethead when I was a young teen, I'd missed most of the songs Greg X. Volz had sung, so a lot of these songs were new to me on this disc. I would have loved to have heard more coverage of some of the songs John Schlitt sung, but this is still a great collection. How about a sequel? Beyond The Grave, anybody? - 12/3/05, John DiBiase
