Sevenglory
Over the Rooftops

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 10 tracks: 39 minutes, 57 seconds
Street Date: March 7, 2006

Hailing from Valparaiso, Indiana, 7 Spin Music's newest pop rock quartet, Sevenglory, presents fans with the sound of modern day Christian rock sprinkled with heartfelt lyrics that are likely to make an impression.

Their debut album, Over The Rooftops, was just released nationally not too long ago. With infectious guitars, harmonizing ballads, organ-driven pianos, and Fred Butson's strong yet melodic vocals, this band may very well impact the youth of this generation as well as some older audiences. Their songs offer messages that speak of Christ's love and who He can set us free, as well as messages of giving hope to the hopeless and how we will fall apart without Christ in our lives ("Fall Apart"). Other tracks bearing these themes include "Really Free," "More Now," "This Time," and the title track, "Over The Rooftops," which makes Sevenglory's first release a well-crafted debut. Sevenglory may have similar sounds to other artists you may recognize, but this band happens to bring enough merit to the table to have a style all their own.

Honestly, it was really hard to find any fault with Over The Rooftops. Sevenglory have a decent sound, passionate, life-giving lyrics, and talented vocals, as well as a worshipful vibe that seems to flow through every song. In the end, I suppose there remains a youthful feel that leaves some room for growth.

Sevenglory is off to a good start with Over The Rooftops, and hopefully they will keep on bringing messages of honest truth, love, and hope that will uplift and motivate. You can tell they really do have a heart for God and it shines throughout this album. If you like the stylings of Building429 and MercyMe, I recommend you give Sevenglory a listen to.
