Disciple
Scars Remain: Special Edition

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 11 tracks: 38 minutes, 52 seconds
Street Date: August 28, 2007

Almost a year after the release of Disciple's hard-hitting album, Scars Remain, the record was given a special edition combo CD/DVD. From the "rock your face off" songs like "Regime Change," the title track, "Game On," "Someone," to the hardcore track "Fight For Love" and the "slow" songs "No End At All" and "After the World," it didn't seem like there really needed to be much more added to this already solid project.

But this special edition of Scars Remain offers one additional track called "Things Left Unsaid," which was released back in 2005 on the DualDisc version of their self-titled album. Other extras include acoustic versions of the songs "Love Hate (On and On)", "After the World", "My Hell", & "Things Left Unsaid".

You still want more? Well, that's good, because you also get two bonus music videos on a second disc DVD for the tracks "After the World" and "Scars Remian."

Overall, you're not getting much more than a previously released tack and some acoustics. Buy it if you want, but you can always download the songs and watch the videos online. But if you haven't grabbed a copy of Scars Remain yet, this is certainly the edition to buy.

JFH Staff's Additional 2 Cents

While I hate re-releases because they tend to take advantage of the diehard fan who WILL double-dip even if it's just a change in album cover art, the Special Edition of Disicple's Scars Remain adds more than the usual re-release and becomes the ultimate must-buy edition if you had to pick between the two edition. I'm also a sucker for good acoustic renditions and it's pretty awesome to hear really heavy tracks get stripped down here. It's a decent re-release, but if you have the original album already, your best bet may be to just grab the bonus tracks from a digital outlet (if you can find them) instead of the full-on double-dip. - 8/12/10, John DiBiase of Jesusfreakhideout.com
